Please use the form below to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate or BMR. BMR is the number of calories your body burns while at rest. Simply put, eating above your BMR causes weight gain and eating below your BMR causes weight loss. The form below calculates your BMR using your weight (in kilograms), height (in centimetres), age (in years) and gender as inputs.
- To convert your weight from pounds (lbs) to kilograms (kgs), multiply your weight in pounds by 0.45. For example, if you weigh 125 pounds, 125 x 0.45 = 56.25 kilos
- To convert your height from feet and inches into centimetres, multiply your height in feet.inches by 30.48. For example, if your height is 5 feet 6 inches, 5.6 x 30.48 = 170.68 centimetres
- The formulas used are:
- Men: 66.47 + (13.7 * weight [kg]) + (5 * size [cm]) − (6.8 * age [years])
- Women: 655.1 + (9.6 * weight [kg]) + (1.8 * size [cm]) − (4.7 * age [years])
